Dental School Personal Statements

Although dentistry is a rich and rewarding career choice, the application process can be a little daunting. Most applicants spend hours stressing over grades and studying for the DAT, but few give much thought to putting together a cohesive application that maximizes their chances of admission at tougher schools. The personal statement is probably the single most neglected aspect of the average candidate’s application. In many cases, it’s pulled together hastily at the last minute and as a result it reads more like an afterthought than a compelling piece of admissions writing. If you’re thinking about submitting an application essay that doesn’t do much more than recap your CV or reference your “passion for health” you might want to think again.

The personal statement works in tandem with the interview process to put a face to test scores and transcripts and help applicants become something more than a data set on the AADSAS report. At Flashpoint, we believe that a well written personal statement is the narrative thread that transforms an application into something more than the sum of its parts.  As a client, you will enjoy the chance to work one-on-one with a world class writer or editor to develop an overall admissions strategy and craft a personal statement that highlights your experience and abilities, a first rate piece of writing that works in conjunction with the rest of your application.  We write and edit, but we also do a whole lot more.  Our goal is to work with our clients individually to change the way they’re seen by dental school admissions committees. We want you to stand out from the crowd.

Whether you are just getting started or you’re making a few tweaks to your final draft, we offer a package that can help you turn your dental school personal statement from something good into something truly remarkable.  Flashpoint is a company that specializes in meeting the needs of individuals.  That’s why there’s no limit to the amount of interaction you can have with your writer or editor.  It’s also why we don’t stop working until you’re satisfied.

Flashpoint One and Done - NEW! - $49

For the budget-minded and applicants who just want another set of eyes to review a nearly prefect statement, we’ve created a special no frills package.  A Flashpoint editor will review your statement once and make all necessary changes relating to grammar, punctuation, and word misuse.  Unlike our other packages, this one does not include direct contact with your editor, suggestions for additional changes, or the review of subsequent drafts, but it does offer a painstakingly careful review of your draft designed to remove embarrassing miscues and typos.  It’s the least every applicant should do to maximize their chances of admission. This is the option that turns a good personal statement into a great one. (How it works)

Flashpoint Final Draft - $149

This is the package to choose if you have a finished draft that isn’t working. Together you and your editor will review your essay paragraph by paragraph and very often line by line. There is no limit to the time you can spend working with your editor. Once you are ready to move forward, you may complete another draft and submit it to the same editor to review your progress and receive additional feedback.(How it works)
