Optometry Personal Statements

The personal statement and essay sections of the optometry school application may be more important than you realize.  As the number of aspiring optometrists continues to rise, schools are faced with more and more qualified applicants.  A good OAT score and a decent grade point average may not be enough.  The writing portion of the application generally offers the best chance for prospective students to stand out from the crowd.  The only problem is that most don’t know how.

At Flashpoint, we offer world class writing and editing services to help you draft an overall personal statement or respond thoughtfully to specific questions posed by the schools on your application checklist.  We’ll work with you one-on-one to construct an overall admissions strategy and help you draft an application essay that speaks to your background and experience as well as your unique skills and passion for the profession.

Whether you can’t quite get started or you’re making a few tweaks to your final draft, we offer a package that can help you turn your personal statement and application essays into the leverage you need to take your education to the next level.  Flashpoint is a company that specializes in meeting the needs of individuals.  That’s why there’s no limit to the amount of interaction you can have with your writer or editor.  It’s also why we don’t stop working on your writing until you’re completely satisfied.

COMPARE OUR SERVICE PACKAGES

Flashpoint One and Done - NEW! - $49

For the budget-minded and applicants who just want another set of eyes to review a nearly prefect statement, we’ve created a special no frills package.  A Flashpoint editor will review your statement once and make all necessary changes relating to grammar, punctuation, and word misuse.  Unlike our other packages, this one does not include direct contact with your editor, suggestions for additional changes, or the review of subsequent drafts, but it does offer a painstakingly careful review of your draft designed to remove embarrassing miscues and typos.  It’s the least every applicant should do to maximize their chances of admission. (How it works)

Flashpoint Checkup - $89

Perfect for the essay that needs a little push to make it across the finish line. A Flashpoint editor will review your personal statement, correct all grammar, spelling, and usage mistakes, and offer their input on style, structure, and tone. This is the option that turns a good personal statement into a great one. (How it works)

Flashpoint Final Draft - $149

This is the package to choose if you have a finished draft that isn’t working. A Flashpoint editor will review your personal statement and work with you directly by email to determine which structural and stylistic changes will allow you to communicate your message. Together you and your editor will review your essay paragraph by paragraph and very often line by line. There is no limit to the time you can spend working with your editor. Once you are ready to move forward, you may complete another draft and submit it to the same editor to review your progress and receive additional feedback. (How it works)

Flashpoint Gold Standard - $399

The best of the best in personal statement writing. If you’re not sure where to begin, a Flashpoint editor will get to know your history and your goals and the two of you will work together to outline a personal statement sure to set you apart from the competition.  You will need to write the rough draft, but we will work with you to turn that rough draft into a completed, professional-quality essay.  Please note that due to concerns about plagiarism we do not offer written-from-scratch personal statements. (How it works)
