I had done well through all of high school and had great extracurriculars, everything from sports to student government to community service.  The one thing I just couldn’t crack was the SAT.  I took it twice and did poorly both times.  I figured that my only chance to get into a top tier school was to write an amazing personal statement and thanks to Flashpoint I did.  It’s kind of amazing how well that first model statement portrayed me.  It was everything that I wanted to say but couldn't put into words.  After that, the process was a piece of cake and even with some pretty ugly SAT scores I got into my first choice school.  The work I put into my personal statement is one of the best investments I made.
